A Brief History of My Scars

Three short stories by author David Jauss, who teaches in the MFA in Writing program at Vermont College of Fine Arts, were read by actors Ethan Bowen, Amy Braun, and Tyler Strong. These stories deal with grief and the lasting power of memory. They explore attempts at finding a way through the lingering sadness that comes with life’s big losses. Woven between Jauss’ work, local writers Amy Braun, Donovan Piccicuto, Tristan Rich-Goding, Char Gardner, Burma Cassidy, and Robert Melik-Finkle read their own stories of navigating grief.

The show was dedicated to Vernon Rochlin, long time supporter of local theater and beloved family member of Amy Braun and Donovan Piccicuto, who passed away on December 28th, 2018.

Bald Mountain Theater specializes in developing archetypal stories and fairy tales into theatrical productions that surprise and challenge our audiences to see these stories in a new light.

All proceeds went to the Quilting Forward fund, which will continue to bestow each Rochester kindergarten student with a homemade quilt, a gift Vernon Rochlin provided for so many years.
