Mission

L1180017Our Vision

To have a thriving landscape of smart, lively, physical theater available to youth all across Vermont; equal access, equal opportunity, and equal eligibility for success.

Our Mission

To give Vermont youth opportunities to expand their horizons and explore their full potential through theater. We will equip them with the social and analytical tools necessary for becoming mature and curious adults.

Core Values

Inclusion and diversity: We encourage and welcome diverse groups and individuals in all of the work that we do, onstage and off, professional and novice. We do not discriminate against any person for any reason, and we go out of our way to include and to assist diverse individuals in the work we do.
Equality and fairness: We treat all staff, board members, participants, and volunteers with respect and dignity. We engage in safe and fair employment practices, including but not limited to distribution of living wages and continual evaluation of employment standards and practices.
Fostering of community: We believe the arts have incredible power to bring together diverse groups of people in the exploration and advancement of values learned through pursuit of theater. We intend to use our resources to build bridges within and between communities in Vermont and eventually around the United States.
Nurturing young minds: Exposure to theater at an early age is crucial to development of social, creative, and analytical skills that serve children in multiple ways for the rest of their lives, no matter their path. We are committed to sparking curiosity and excitement in children through the theater arts.
Exposure to myth, culture, and history: We believe in advancing the historical and literary education of youth through the retelling of folktales, myths, and histories of diverse cultures. Such an education will give children perspective on their own culture and a sense of respect and appreciation for those that are different from their own.
